Gemma Tattoos

•Do not tan or expose unprotected skin to the sun, or tanning beds for 30 days prior to your treatment.

•Avoid extreme heat 24 hours before such as hot tubs/saunas/steam rooms.

•Remove any fake tan. Treatment cannot be performed if this is present.

•Shave any hair in the area to be treated 24 hours prior.

•Avoid harsh irritants or products -including mechanical and chemical exfoliation-on the tattoo.

•Remove any makeup, lotions, perfumes and deodorant on the tattoo area.

It’s advisable not to drink alcohol 24 hours before your tattoo because it thins the blood and will taking longer for both the tattoo and healing process. It can also impair healing. Before your appointment try to have a good night sleep, breakfast and plenty of water to hydrate the skin.

If you have a medical condition or take prescribed medication, it is important that you disclose it to us before the tattoo procedure. 

The sessions are spaced six to eight weeks apart, which allows your skin to process the treatment. Many people start to see their ink fade after three appointments. 

A patch test consist of 3 shots (tattoo removal) or a 3x3cm square (carbon facial) of the laser applied to the skin. This is to see how the skin will react to treatment and to make sure it us safe to continue with a full session. A photo will be taken of the area before and after the patch test. You will also be required to send a picture 48hrs later to assess how the skin has responded.

On the same day, prior to performing the patch test, you will have a consultation consisting of medical and health questions to assess your suitability for the treatment. It is extremely important that you answer the questions honestly and to the best of your knowledge.

Your are more than welcome to bring a plus one while having a tattoo. If you are having a tattoo removal or carbon facial then they will have to leave the room while the laser is used.  They are welcome to sit and wait in the reception area.

Please do not bring children under the age of 18 into the studio.

•Avoid using acids, retinol or exfoliates a week prior to  your facial.
